Partner for Project: Andrew Salls

Client: WPI Academic Resource Center

Project: Creating an infographic that the ARC could post to let students know how to schedule virtual tutoring sessions

Our first decision was to create a poster based on the WPI colors since our client the WPI ARC, and our audience is WPI students. Along with this, using the WPI colors gives a sense of credibility in relation to the topic, we are talking about a WPI tutoring program so using WPI colors lets students know that this is somewhat official. We left a large red banner at the top for both the logo which is surrounded by white to highlight it, and for our title and any other important headings. Where the red meets the gray background creates a line in the image helping to separate the titles from the actual content of the post.

The next thing we did was create the numbered steps. The steps to access and schedule a virtual tutoring session were provided to us in a document so we knew that there were just 3 main steps. We decided to make them large so that they stood out and were legible and we also gave them a white background with a red outline to help them stick out from the background. Lastly we added lines between the steps to naturally draw ones eyes downward toward the next step, with a mark in the middle that is similar to an arrow but rounded to suggest a downward movement.
